Deputy defense minister works at Vinacomin Motor Industry Joint Stock Company
PANO - On July 7, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam, Deputy Defense Minister, visited the Vinacomin Motor Industry Joint Stock Company under the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation.
Over the years, the company has consistently identified aligning production development with defense and security tasks as a crucial orientation. The company involves in accessing technology and assembling domestic military trucks and specialized vehicles not only enhances its production capacity, but also proactively secures technical equipment sources, gradually masters technology, and meets industrial mobilization requirements when necessary.

At the meeting, Le Manh Thuong, Director of the company, affirmed that the company is fully capable and qualified to manufacture and assemble various types of automobiles, including military vehicles. He attributed this to upgraded facilities, modern production lines, strict quality management matching international standards, and an experienced workforce. Consequently, the director proposed that the Defense Ministry continue to facilitate the company’s participation in military vehicle assembly programs.

In his concluding remarks, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam highly valued the company’s long-standing traditions, capacity, and proactive spirit in overcoming difficulties to stabilize and develop production. He requested the company and relevant agencies to continue their close cooperation and effectively implement signed contracts.
The Deputy Defense Minister urged the company to strive for a higher localization rate of technical equipment, materials, and spare parts in its assembled vehicles. He also urged the unit to proactively expand its cooperation network with military enterprises and factories to create a synchronized supply chain, thereby accelerating the product localization process.

Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam emphasized that boosting the localization rate is a key solution to reduce costs and master the supply of replacement parts, contributing to building a dual-use, self-reliant defense industry toward full autonomy. He also noted that during production and assembly, any changes in features or technology must be strictly managed to ensure the stable operation of the vehicles.
