Up to now, Viettel has successfully researched, mastered, and produced many military products suitable for the military’s operational needs and conditions. Currently, Viettel has submitted more than 680 patent applications and been granted 175 patents in Vietnam; submitted 127 ones and received 41 patents in the U.S.; and published over 400 international scientific articles. Viettel has built a workforce of more than 3,000 people in research and production and developed modern, synchronized technical infrastructure for research and testing high-tech products, meeting international standards.
In his remarks, Sr. Lt. Gen. Le Huy Vinh applauded Viettel’s efforts in scientific research and technology in general and military scientific research and technology in particular, contributing to affirming the quality and efficiency of military enterprises in the new situations.
Gen. Vinh required Viettel to well accomplish the task of scientific research and technology in 2025; implemented 37 ongoing scientific research and technology tasks from 2024 and initiated 16 new tasks to research, manufacture, and test products according to the programs, projects, and missions assigned by the MND and the needs of arms and services.
Meanwhile, Viettel should carry out policies to attract high-quality human resources and honor outstanding individuals in a timely manner to prevent “brain drain.”
The deputy defense minister also requested relevant agencies and units, particularly the General Department of Defense Industry, the Institute of Military Science and Technology, and the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Center, to study Viettel’s experience to orient their future scientific research and technology work in the coming years.
