According to Director of the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) in Vietnam Fabio De Cillis, Vietnam is emerging as a dynamic market with great growth potential, becoming a priority destination for Italian enterprises in their internationalization strategy.

He noted that Vietnam - Italy economic cooperation has been expanding rapidly, especially in machinery and equipment. Italy not only exports complete machinery but also cooperates with Vietnam in supplying components and semi-finished products, thereby creating a win-win model of partnership.

In addition to traditional strengths such as food and fashion, Italy is placing increasing emphasis on cooperation in high-tech sectors like medical technology, aerospace, and artificial intelligence (AI), he added.

The B2B sessions focused on areas including manufacturing, machinery, food technology, pharmaceuticals, electronics, logistics, and innovation.

Stefano Romanelli, Managing Director of Omnia Technologies Beverage Singapore Pte Ltd, said that most beverage and processed food production lines in Vietnam currently use Italian technology. The company aims to expand its operations from food processing to the pharmaceutical processing industry, which is seen as having strong growth potential in Vietnam.

Trade between ASEAN and Italy has grown impressively, up 38% to nearly 20 billion USD, while Vietnam - Italy bilateral trade reached almost 7 billion USD in 2024, marking a 13% increase year-on-year.
