Vietnam-Laos Trade Fair 2017 wraps up
PANO - Vietnam-Laos Trade Fair 2017 wrapped up in Vientiane, Laos on July 3 with the participation of representatives from the two countries’ Ministries of National Defense and Industry and Trade.
Addressing the closing ceremony, the organizer’s representative said that the five-day fair with nearly 200 businesses and 320 pavilions, including 18 Vietnamese military businesses, drew nearly 10,000 visitors and businessmen who came to seek investment and cooperation opportunities.

With its socio-political and diplomatic significance, the fair helped boost mutual understanding and trust between governments and people of the two nations and tighten the long-lasting solidarity, friendship and sustainable cooperation between two neighboring countries of Vietnam and Laos.
It also opened up chances for Vietnamese businesses to further popularize their images, promote prestige and status in the Lao market as well as seek market expansion opportunities and partners.
During the event, Vietnamese businesses presented 20 gifts to local policy beneficiary families, 20 computers and four printers to the Lao ministries of National Defense and Industry and Trade. Moreover, a delegation from Hospital 4 of Vietnam’s Military Region 4 teamed up with Lao partners to provide free health checkups and medicines, valued at some VND 300 million, for over 500 locals.
According to Major General Vo Hong Thang, Director of the Department of Economics of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense, the fair is not only a trade activity, but also a symbol of the Vietnam-Laos solidarity and friendship and a place for the two nations’ businesses to share experience.
Gen. Thang added that Vietnam’s high quality products were highly appreciated by the locals.
Also at the closing ceremony, the organizers presented certificates of merit of the Vietnamese Defense Minister to 30 participating units with outstanding achievements in the fair organization and engagement.
