Jointly organized by the Vietnamese and Lao ministries of National Defense and Industry and Trade, the five-day event drew the participation of around 200 units and businesses from the two countries.

The participants will showcase their quality and prestigious garment and textiles, shoes, agricultural, forestry and aquatic, electrical, mechanical, chemical products, fertilizer, and livestock at 320 pavilions. They also introduce photos reflecting the time-honored traditional friendship between Vietnam and Laos and activities of the Vietnamese troops.

Delegates cutting ribbon to open the Vietnam-Laos Trade Fair 

Addressing the opening ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don, member of the Party Central Committee, permanent member of the Central Military Commission, and Deputy Minister of National Defense of Vietnam emphasized the significance of the trade fair, considering it an important political, economic, and social event that contributed to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries. The event was also a chance for Vietnamese businesses in general and Vietnamese military ones in particular to seek cooperation opportunities and expand trading relations with the Lao businesses and effectively promote their exports, services, and tourism in ASEAN member countries, including Laos, contributing to the world peace, security, cooperation, and development.

In the framework of the fair, artists from art troupes of Military Region 4 of the Vietnam People’s Army and of the Laos People’s Army will entertain locals with well-prepared performances. Meanwhile, medical staff from the Vietnamese Military Hospital 4 of Military Region 4 will provide free health check-ups and medicine to policy beneficiaries and organizers will present gifts to policy beneficiaries, units, and schools.

The same day, General Don visited leaders of the Lao Ministry of National Defense, Vietnamese Embassy and Military Attaché Office in Laos.
