The 24-year-old striker has played more than 30 matches for the Vietnamese national team, which is coached by Korean Park Hang-seo.
He reportedly impressed manager of the Incheon United FC Jorn Andersen during the Vietnamese squad’s training session in the Republic of Korea in preparation for the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2018.
This is the second time he has ventured outside Vietnam after a loan spell with Japanese second division side Mito HollyHock in 2016.
Phuong is the latest member of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018 champions to move abroad, after midfielder Luong Xuan Truong of Hoang Anh Gia Lai FC joined Buriram United Football Club of Thailand on loan, while goalkeeper Dang Van Lam transferred from Hai Phong FC to Muangthong United of Thailand.
