The Vietnamese cycling team celebrates another gold medal at the 2025 Asian Road Cycling Championships. |
After the start, the Vietnamese team employed a drafting strategy to conserve energy. As the race neared the final sprint, all four female Vietnamese riders remained in the leading pack. In the last meters, Ton Hoang Khanh Lan delivered a stunning sprint, overtaking her rivals to claim the Asian gold medal. The three remaining Vietnamese cyclists - Pham Minh Nhan, Truong Thi Quynh, and Hoang Thi Hang - also performed impressively, securing bronze medals.
This is Vietnam’s second gold medal at the tournament. Previously, on February 8, Hoang Hai Nam won a convincing gold in the Men’s Individual Time Trial (60+ category).
The Vietnamese cycling team’s achievements have been highly praised by experts and competitors, especially when the team faced equipment challenges due to a bike and gear fire incident before the race. However, overcoming all difficulties, the Vietnamese cyclists delivered an inspiring victory, bringing glory to their country.
The Asian Road Cycling Championships 2025 runs from February 7 to 16, featuring nearly 500 top cyclists from across the continent, including professional teams, U23 and U18 riders, as well as senior athletes competing in the Master category.
