The camp, themed “Praising role models in COVID-19 prevention and control,” attracts 54 people who are writers, journalists, and typical literary talents in the military.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Major General Le Xuan Sang, Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Training under the General Department of Political Affairs and head of the organizing panel of the camp, stressed that over the past 77 years of development of the Vietnam People’s Army, literature and art have always vividly reflected troops’ willpower, creativeness, courage in the national salvation cause in the past and in the present Fatherland construction and defense cause.

General Sang also highlighted literature and art works’ contribution to building a politically-strong military, raising synergy, combat strength of the military as well.

He reminisced about generations of soldier-writers who composed while fighting the enemy, brightening the noble and proud images of “Soldier-Artists.”

In the current period, a number of compositions by military authors hold high ideological and artistic values with topics on the armed forces and the national revolutionary cause, contributing to beautifying the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers, confirming the role and prestige of military literature in the Vietnamese revolutionary literature.

General Sang hoped that with a high sense of responsibility, and love for art, the participants will compose good works to encourage the whole nation in the fight against COVID-19.

The camp will conclude on December 26.
