The Vietnam Professional Football Company (VPF) on January 25 signed a contract with Sportradar to prevent match-fixing in the national football leagues during the 2016 season.

This is one of the activities that VPF pledged to carry out to make sure transparency is the rule in domestic football.

Sportradar is the world's leading supplier of sports and betting-related live data, odds solutions and fraud detection services.

It is also a leader in understanding and leveraging the power of sports data and digital content for its clients around the world, including the UEFA.

Following the signing of their contract, Swiss-based Sportradar will monitor all tournaments that Vietnamese clubs take part in, as well as update and analyse data, along with reporting to VPF if problems are detected.

Last year, Sportradar verified that Vietnamese players had competed fairly in their 2-4 loss to Malaysia during the ASEAN Football Federation Cup.

Earlier, based upon their statistics, dozens of players of Vissai Ninh Binh and Dong Nai were banned for life because of match fixing.

Also on January 25, VPF signed a two-year agreement with Hung Vuong Insurance Company. Beginning this season, all players, referees and match supervisors will be cared for, and receive financial support, in case of being injured.

On the same day, the company that manages the V.League and First Division tournaments, along with the National Cup and the National Super Cup match, introduced VPF Media, their online channel on Youtube, providing official information and images to fans at youtube.com/vpfmedia.
