Asian Art in London, an esteemed annual event established in 1998, features a diverse array of specialized exhibitions and auctions. Thang Long Art Gallery’s participation in this year’s event marks a proud moment for Vietnamese art enthusiasts.
Joan Yip, Senior Specialist and Head of Sale of Bonhams Southeast Asian Modern and Contemporary Art, expressed her honor, saying, “We’re thrilled that “A glimpse of Vietnam” by Thang Long Art Gallery is here, allowing the British public to explore post-Indochina art in Vietnam. This exhibition is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about Vietnamese artists whom I had previously only known by name.”
Sophie Kempson, Program Development Director of Asian Art in London, added, ““A glimpse of Vietnam” offers a fresh perspective, enabling the global audience to witness what’s happening in the contemporary Vietnamese art. The artists and works displayed here are fascinating, especially the unique techniques used, such as lacquer painting and wood-burning, which are materials rarely seen in this part of the world.”
