Vietnamese Film Week to welcome 13th NA Election

The Cinema Department, Fafilm Vietnam Company, National Cinema Centre, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Film Company, and Centre for Film Distribution and Projection of 63 provinces and cities across the country jointly held a film week to welcome the election of the National Assembly 13th legislature and People’s Council at all levels.
During this week, ending May 22nd several films including The letters from Son My directed by director Le Dan. The film recalled the My Lai massacre by the American troops in 1968 which killed 504 Vietnamese civilians. It will be showed in all the cinemas in Vietnam in this July. The film was previously showed at Festival de Cannes in May 2010, IDECAF in October 2010
Other film will be presented this time is The road to the revolutionary base about heroine Mac Thi Buoi during the Vietnam’s resistance war against French colonialists and Deserted Field, Heros of Tay Son, Hanoi, Hanoi and some documentary films like The city at dawn and Temple of Literature-Royal College.
Mobile teams will show these films in mountainous, remote and off-shore islands for local people and soldiers.
