This year’s competition received 239 entries across seven categories, including 88 in residential architecture; 65 in public architecture; eight in industrial, heritage conservation and adaptive reuse; 27 in interior-exterior architecture; nine in landscape architecture; 29 in urban planning; and 13 entries in architectural publications, research, and criticism.

An overview of the Vietnam Military History Museum

The jury praised the entries for their diversity, innovation, and flexibility in design, along with the application of new construction technologies. Notably, the organizing panel highlighted several public projects of high economic, cultural, political, and social value, as well as works with strong community impact.

The 16th National Architecture Awards presented one Grand, five gold, 12 silver, 35 bronze, and one community choice award, together with a certificate of merit for the most successful organization and a special award for “Architectural Contribution and Development.”

The Grand Prize was awarded to the Vietnam Military History Museum (2024) with architects Hiroshi Miyakawa, Trinh Viet A, Michio Oizumi, Nguyen Dinh Dong, and Gen Sugiyama (Nikken Sekkei LTD).

The National Architecture Awards is a biennial competition jointly organized by the Vietnam Association of Architects, Ministry of Construction, and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. It aims to promote creativity, honor outstanding architects and architectural works nationwide, shape the future direction of Vietnamese architecture, and enhance public awareness of architectural art.
