Spring Flower Festival to be held in Ho Chi Minh City
PANO – A Spring Flower Festival will be held in Ho Chi Minh City from January 30 to February 10 (from the 25th day of lunar December 2018 to the sixth day of Lunar January 2019), announced organizers at a press conference on January 28.
Accordingly, more than 3,000 ornamental trees and items of different kinds, including apricot blossom, orchids, cactus and the like will be displayed to welcome both domestic and international visitors.
Special ornamental trees were grown by artisans from An Giang, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, and Dong Thap provinces and Ho Chi Minh City.
Under the theme “A Spring of Gathering,” the space of the spring flower festival is well decorated with peach blossoms and a herd of piglets–the symbol of the year. Bonsais are arranged along the path toward the center of the festival.
Along with artistic performances at opening and closing ceremonies, audiences will have a chance to participate in dragon dance, enjoy tea, write calligraphic letters, or join folk games.
On the occasion, organizers will present 1,000 free bus tickets, 1,000 entrance tickets to workers who cannot afford to go home for the New Year celebration and 1,000 other tickets for needy children.
