An overview of the seminar |
Under the direction of the Party, the press played a critical role in information dissemination among people, contributing to consolidating the people’s trust in the Party and the success of the battle. Up to now, the “Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the air” Victory has been a topic drawing the attention of scientists and the public at home and abroad.
For external affairs, the press exerted direct effects on political and diplomatic fronts, forcing the U.S. to take a seat at the negotiation table and sign the Paris Peace Accords - an agreement to end the war and restore peace in Vietnam.
Many photos on display at the exhibition highlighted stories of President Ho Chi Minh with the Air Defense - Air Force service, troops and people of Hanoi and other northern localities in the battle against the strategic raid by U.S. B-52 aircraft.
Meanwhile, the exhibits demonstrate the great dedication of journalists and reporters on duty in Hanoi during the 12-day battle, including reporters Vu Ba from the People’s Army Newspaper, Trinh Hai, Do Quang and Pham Thanh from the Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chu Chi Thanh and Minh Loc from the Vietnam New Agency, among others.
