Popular opera on General Nguyen Chi Thanh performed

PANO - The Military Popular Opera Theatre, on the evening of December 25^th, staged a play on General Nguyen Chi Thanh titled “The person as pure as a gem” at Hanoi Opera House with the attendance of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.

The play, written by writer Nguyen Quang Vinh and directed by People’s Artist Doan Hoang Giang, recaptures General Nguyen Chi Thanh’s animated and resilient revolutionary activities beginning from the resistance war against the French colonialists, and especially in fiercest periods of the war against the American imperialists.

In this play, General Nguyen Chi Thanh’s characteristics are beautified and highlighted, including his whole-hearted dedication for the revolutionary cause, straightforwardness and uncompromising stance in combating negative manifestations, caring for his inferiors and always giving prominence to people’s strengths.

The Military Popular Opera Theatre plans to stage this play at major ceremonies of the State and the Army in 2014 and at the Whole-Army Professional Art Festival in early 2014 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The play is part of important activities celebrating the 100^th anniversary of General Nguyen Chi Thanh's birth on January 1^st, 1914.
