PANO – A photo exhibition themed “Van Cao 18 years ago” was opened in Hanoi on November 15th on the 18th death anniversary of famous musician Van Cao.
The displayed photos depict the daily life and carrier of the late musician, captured by journalist and photographer Nguyen Dinh Toan.
It is also the first exhibition of Toan on the musician.

Musician Van Cao is considered the most outstanding composer of modern Vietnamese music with a number of love and historical songs, such as the national anthem “Tien quan ca” (Marching song), “Suoi mo” (Dream stream), “Mua xuan dau tien” (First spring), “Dem son cuoc” (A night in the mountain), and “Chien si Vietnam” (Vietnamese soldiers). Many streets across the country were named after the musician.
At the opening ceremony, Historian Duong Trung Quoc said Toan’s works provide viewers with better understanding about late musician Van Cao, who had great contributions to the Vietnamese music development.
The exhibition will last till November 17th.
