This year’s festival celebrates the 600th anniversary of the Lam Son Uprising.

This year’s festival, in celebration of the 600th anniversary of the Lam Son Uprising, has two main parts, including traditional rituals such as palanquin procession, incense offering and worship ceremonies, and festive activities under the theme “Ever-lasting Lam Son spirit” which featured the tradition of fight against the Chinese Ming invaders to protect the country’s sovereignty.

During the two-day festival, other interesting events included the Lam Kinh Autumn Fair 2018, a public artistic festival of the Le family in Vietnam, a scientific seminar themed “National hero Le Loi and Thanh Hoa people in the first stage of the Lam Son Uprising,” a national table-tennis championship and more.

The Lam Kinh special national relic site worships national hero Le Loi who led the Lam Son Uprising to fight the Chinese Ming invaders in the 15th century and became the first King, Le Thai To, of the Later Le dynasty (1427-1789) in 1428. The site also honors other kings of the Le dynasty and Le Lai, who rendered an outstanding merit to the nation at the time.
