PANO - 2016 Lam Kinh Festival started at the Lam Kinh Special National Historical Relic in Xuan Lam commune, Tho Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province on September 22 (August 28th on lunar calendar).

The two-day festival is to celebrate the 598th anniversary of the Lam Son Uprising and commemorate of the 583rd death anniversary of national hero Le Loi.

On the first day of this year’s festival, a procession of palanquin of King Le Thai To and Le Lai who sacrificed his life to protect King Le Thai To in the Lam Son Uprising took place at the Dragon yard of the Lam Kinh historical relic.

There were also folk art programs under the theme “Bring into full play the spirit of Lam Son Uprising-Exerting all efforts to build a model province of Thanh Hoa”, promoting national pride and at the same time popularizing Thanh Hoa province and its people.
