PANO – Thousands of people flocked to the Lam Kinh historical relic site in Tho Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province to celebrate the 2014 Lam Kinh Festival on September 15th (August 22nd in lunar calendar).

The festival sees many interesting activities, including drums beating performances and sedan chair procession, which are traditional rituals under the Le dynasty; the stage program reenacting the Lam Son Uprising, Lung Nhai Oath Ceremony, the enthronement of Kings Le; photos and documents exhibition, folk games and such art programs as folk singing and ca tru (ceremonial songs).

This annual festival is a highlight towards the 2015 Thanh Hoa National Tourism Year themed “Connecting world’s cultural heritages”. It is also a good opportunity to make Thanh Hoa province, its culture, hospitality and people known widely.

The same day, a ceremony commemorating national hero Le Loi and celebrating 596th anniversary of Lam Son Uprising took place at the site.

Participants offered incenses to the hero and recalled his great service for national protection.
