Visitors exploring traditional handicraft products |
A highlight of the program is the assessment and recognition process conducted by the World Crafts Council (WCC), which will consider granting official membership to two renowned craft villages of Hanoi: Son Dong (lacquered wood sculpture) and Chuyen My (mother-of-pearl inlay and lacquerware). These two villages would follow in the footsteps of Bat Trang pottery and Van Phuc silk, which have become members of the Global Network of Creative Craft Cities.
This year’s festival covers more than 4,000 sq.m, featuring various functional zones, such as the exhibition space honoring craft villages that meet regional and international standards; the heritage and conservation space showcasing outstanding craft villages from across Vietnam.
