Hanoi strives to become a regional creative hub
PANO – The Hanoi municipal People’s Committee and the UNESCO Office in Vietnam on October 2 held a high-level seminar for proposing initiatives towards the development of “Hanoi – a Creative City”.
The event was attended by Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi municipal Party Committee Vuong Dinh Hue.
This is a practical activity to celebrate the 1,010th Anniversary of Thang Long–Hanoi, and the capital's 17th Party Congress; as well as promote the realization of Hanoi's commitments as a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN).
The seminar’s content includes three groups of solutions to realize the vision of a Creative Capital, such as urban regeneration and development with culture as the society's foundation, innovative educational networks with a priority for arts and science, a comprehensive chain of cultural events, fairs, exhibitions and festivals, and the promotion of the Creative City's brand.
At the seminar, the capital's leaders took note all ideas and comments in order to complete their short-term and long-term action programs, while implementing initiatives and commitments with UNESCO.
