Aikido is a Japanese martial art developed by Morihei Ueshiba in the 20th century as a synthesis of his martial studies, philosophy and religious beliefs.
Entering Vietnam over 50 years ago, it is being developed in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and the provinces of An Giang, Khanh Hoa, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Ba Ria–Vung Tau and Lam Dong.
Hanoi now has 10 Aikido clubs with about 2,000 Aikido practitioners.
