The event was attended by Senior Lieutenant General, Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Pham Thanh Ngan, former Politburo member, former Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs; Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff, and Deputy Defense Minister; Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang.
Over the past 78 years, resounding feats-of-arms of the Vietnam People’s Army in the struggle for national independence, freedom, reunification, carrying out international service and great contribution to the national construction and defense cause have gone down in the history of the nation, becoming a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism and of a military by the people, fighting for the people.

At the event, apart from artistic performances, participants watched documentaries about Uncle Ho’s soldiers who are loyal to the Party, pious to the people, and ready to fight and sacrifice for national independence and freedom and for socialism, fulfill any mission, overcome any difficulty, and defeat any enemy.
At the event, artistic performances took the audience back to the 12 days and nights in December 1972 when Hanoi’s troops and people bravely fought and made “Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the air” a glorious victory.
On the occassion, the organizing panel presented gifts and flowers to ten heroes of the people’s armed forces who directly participated in and made significant achievements in the “Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the air” campaign in 1972. The gifts were to pay gratitude to families with contribution to the revolution and honor heroes of the armed forces of the Air Defense – Air Force Service.
Through the program, the organizers decided to give 50 gifts, worth VND 250 million in total, to heroic Vietnamese mothers, fallen soldiers’ families, heroes of the people’s armed forces, wounded and sick soldiers, and needy officers who are working in the Air Defense – Air Force Service.

The “Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the air” victory in particular and feats-of-arms of the Vietnamese troops and people in general will forever be the pride and motivation for current generation to strive to obtain new achievements in national construction and defense cause.
