The exchange program for Vietnamese, Lao, and Cambodian children is one of the practical activities to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam – Laos diplomatic ties (September 5, 1962 – 2022), 45 years of the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (July 18, 1977 – 2022), and 55th anniversary of Vietnam – Cambodia diplomatic relations (June 24, 1967 – 2022).
The event attracts the participation of more than 180 children with outstanding achievements in studying and carrying out children movements from Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.
The program, which runs until August 14, features various meaningful activities, including paying tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, visiting “President Ho Chi Minh and children” space, touring Ho Chi Minh City-based Ho Chi Minh Museum and Independence Palace, paying homage to fallen soldiers at Rung Sac War Cemetery, and learning about Rung Sac Historical Relic in Can Gio district and Cu Chi Tunnel Historical Relic in Cu Chi district.
Children from the three countries will also visit some famous places in Ho Chi Minh City, experience various tourism products, plant rhizophora apiculata, and join cultural exchanges, camp fire, and other interesting experience activities. The highlight of the program is a Vietnam – Laos – Cambodia children cultural exchange.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, member of the Secretariat of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee Ngo Van Cuong emphasized the significance of the program. He said that the event is an opportunity for children of the three countries to meet and exchange, contributing to educating them about the special traditional friendship between Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.
He added that the event is also to affirm the Vietnamese, Lao, and Cambodian young generation’s determination and responsibility for preserving and strengthening the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the parties, states, and people of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.

The official expected that the participating children will have unforgettable experiences and good memories in Ho Chi Minh City. He urged the Vietnamese children to show hospitality and introduce their families, schools, and beautiful Vietnam to their Lao and Cambodian peers.
At the opening ceremony, children from Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia participated in dove release ceremony to demonstrate the spirit of peace and solidarity among children of the three countries. After that, delegates played folk games and learnt about folk arts at Ho Chi Minh City’s Children Center.
