Vietnamese, Lao and Cambodian art troupes gather in a festival
PANO – Art troupes from Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia will participate in the “Road 9 Singing 2019” Festival from July 20 to 25 in Quang Tri province, announced the organizers at a press conference on July 19 in Hanoi.
According to the Department of Art Performance of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the event is part of the activities to mark the 72nd Vietnamese Wounded Soldiers’ and Martyrs’ Day (July 27). It aims to pay gratitude to revolutionary contributors, evaluate art achievements of units as well as to manifest the solidarity among the three countries in both wartime and peacetime.
During the festival, ten Vietnamese art troupes and two others from Laos and Cambodia will perform new songs and dances in praise of the revolutionary war.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong said that the organizing panel will conduct various activities to pay gratitude to Vietnamese heroic mothers, wounded and sick soldiers, families of fallen soldiers and revolutionary contributors.
After the festival, an art program will be held at the Road 9-Khe Sanh Martyrs’ Cemetery with the participation of popular singers, including People’s Artists Lan Huong, Thai Bao and Tu Long and Meritorious Artists Quoc Hung, Dang Duong and Phuong Thao. All performances at the program will praise the Fatherland and sacrifices of the Vietnamese people for the nation’s liberation, peace and happiness of people.
