Can Tho builds oncology hospital
PANO – Can Tho city’s Health Department held a groundbreaking ceremony for construction of the city's Oncology Hospital on October 11.

Present at the event were former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and representatives from central and local agencies.
The 500-bed hospital will be built on an area of over 44,000sq.m with full medical equipment costing more than EUR 70 million (nearly VND 1.73 trillion), of which the Hungarian Government provided a preferential loan worth EUR 56.99 million, while the remaining comes from Can Tho city’s budget .
On becomingoperational, the hospital will contribute to improving oncology treatment for patients in the Mekong River Delta region and is expected to become a center to carry out research and training on oncology for local medical staff.
The construction of the hospital is scheduled to be completed at the end of 2018.
