International conference on oncology in Hanoi
PANO – Advances and discoveries in oncology were presented at the first Vietnam-US multidisciplinary oncology conference in Hanoi on September 5, organized by the Central Military Hospital 108, Salt Cancer Initiative, the Vietnam Young Physicians Association, Viettel Group, Forbes Vietnam, and the University of Southern California.
The event brought a great opportunity to Vietnamese doctors and scientists to share knowledge, experience and discuss cooperation opportunities with international experts to improve the quality of cancer treatment and prevention.
Despite advances in cancer treatment, the number of cancer patients continues to increase in Vietnam and many other countries. Over 120,000 new cases of cancer were diagnosed and over 75,000 die in Vietnam each year because of this deadly disease.
