Exhibition affirms Vietnam’s sovereignty over Paracel and Spratly
PANO - An exhibition of historical and legal evidence demonstrating Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos in the East Sea (South China Sea) opened at Vinh Thanh High School in Vinh Thanh district, Binh Dinh province on March 31.
The event, jointly held by the provincial Department of Information and Communications, Culture and Sports, Department of Education and Training, and Border Guard Command, displays around 130 photos, documents, and maps collected from Vietnam and other countries.

At the same time, a representative from the Binh Dinh provincial Border Guard Command briefed nearly 1,000 students of the Vinh Thanh High School on the Law of the Sea of Vietnam; knowledge of Vietnam’s baseline, territorial sea, contiguous zone, exclusive economic zone and continental shelf in the East Sea; the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982; and the country’s long-time sovereignty over the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa islands.
As scheduled, the exhibition will take place in four other districts of Tay Son, Van Canh, An Lao, and Hoai An until May 26.
