Dissemination of fund for seas and islands to be promoted
PANO –The Permanent Office of the Steering Board of the Fund for Vietnam’s seas and islands held a conference on February 12 in Hanoi to review the implementation of tasks in 2019 and develop a working plan for the remaining months of 2020.
The event was chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army.
A report delivered at the meeting revealed that over the past time the permanent office and other agencies under the steering board have thoroughly embraced and implemented the Prime Minister’s decisions on the fund for Vietnam’s seas and islands. The permanent office issued working regulations, launched a logo design contest, compiled documents to disseminate information relating to the fund, set criteria for awarding groups and individuals with great contributions to the fund and mobilized more sources for the fund in line with the regulations.
Meanwhile, the Navy, the Border Guard Command and the Vietnam Coast Guard have developed plans to mobilize resources for the fund in 2020 and completed documents for dissemination of Vietnam’s seas and islands.
At the conference, delegates also reported on task implementation of agencies under the steering board over the past time and pointed out challenges and shortcomings in carrying out the missions. They also discussed and approved the preparations for the launch of the fund, drafted regulations on the management of the fund, and put forward measures to raise the effectiveness of the fund in the coming time.
