Tourism week honors natural heritage
PANO - The Vietnam Culture and Arts Exhibition Center on November 21 held a press conference to introduce the second Green Heritage Culture and Tourism Week, themed “A Convergence of Humans and Nature” which is running at the Center at 2 Hoa Lu street, Hanoi.
The activity is co-held by the
Center, the Department of Culture and Sports of Hanoi, and departments of
Culture, Sports and Tourism of other
provinces such as Hai Phong, Ha Giang, Lai Chau, Dong Thap, Ba Ria - Vung Tau,
Kien Giang.
The event aims to introduce, promote
and honor cultural and natural heritage sites, particularly those recognized by
UNESCO as world natural heritage sites. It is also a chance to raise public
awareness of and responsibility for preserving biodiversity and natural
environment; as well as promoting the potential and attractiveness of
ecotourism at the world’s natural heritage sites and national parks.
Some 100 best photos by 66
photographers, selected from 3,479 entries from the Vietnam Heritage Photo
Contest will be displayed during the week. The contest aimed to find photos and
stories in images of nature, culture, and the lives of ethnic minorities in Vietnam.
A range of artistic and cultural
activities will also be held during the week, including performances of ca tru
(ceremonial singing), cheo (traditional opera), don ca tai tu (southern amateur
singing) and chau van (spiritual singing),.
In addition, a cultural exchange
program for students and a painting festival for children as well as a cuisine
space, introducing unique tastes and aromas from around the country, all
promise to be highlights of the event.
The second Green Heritage Culture
and Tourism Week will conclude on November 23.
