Particularly, on July 26, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese heroic mother Nguyen Thi Kich in Tan An Hoi commune, Ms. Khai Thi Roi, wife of martyr Bui Van Tha, in Tan Thong Hoi commune, and wounded soldier Tran Vay in Tan Thach Tay commune, Cu Chi district, Ho Chi Minh City.

Talking with the contributors, the NA leader affirmed that the Party, State and people always bare in mind the great contributions of wounded and sick soldiers, fallen soldiers’ families, national contributors and their families to the national independence and reunification.

The NA Chairwoman also offered incense at Cu Chi District Martyrs’ Cemetery and Ben Duoc Memorial Temple in Cu Chi district.

The same day, Politburo member and NA Permanent Vice Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong and a delegation of legislators paid homage to fallen soldiers at some war cemeteries in Quang Tri province, and visited and presented gifts to local national contributors. 

Attending a Ministry of Foreign Affairs conference to review gratitude movement over the past time, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh, Politburo member and Foreign Minister, extended greetings to national contributors and their relatives who are working in the ministry. He also praised the ministry’s efforts in conducting gratitude activities.

Meanwhile, Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam visited and presented gifts to national contributors in Hung Yen city and laid wreaths at the statue of late Party General Secretary Nguyen Van Linh and a local war memorial.

At the meeting with Vietnamese heroic mothers and female national contributors on July 26, Vice State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh expressed deep gratitude to the contributors and committed that the Party, State and people will make more efforts to better take care of national contributors to ensure them have a better and more convenient life.

Also on July 26, a mission of the General Department of Politics (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army, led by Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, member of the Party Central Committee and GDP’s Deputy Director, offered incense to Senior Lieutenant General Song Hao. The delegates bowed to show deep respect and gratitude for the late General’s remarkable contributions to the national salvation, construction and defense cause and the building of the army. They affirmed that Senior Lieutenant General Song Hao’s leadership and command experiences in Party and political work are invaluable asset for present troops.

Later the same day, the GDP’s agencies and units, Logistics Museum under the Department of Politics of the General Department of Logistics, and local leadership held a candle-lighting ceremony and an artistic exchange in commemoration of martyrs.

Other candle-lighting ceremonies in commemoration of fallen soldiers were also held by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee at Truong Son National War Cemetery in Quang Tri province, Vy Xuyen War Cemetery in Ha Giang province, Vietnam-Laos International War Cemetery in Nghe An province, Hang Duong War Cemetery in Ba Ria-Vung Tau, and Tan Bien district War Cemetery. Youths across the country also conducted similar activities in tribute to contributions of those who sacrificed themselves for national independence.

The People’s Army Newspaper, in association with some media companies, handed over savings-books to ten national contributors, elderly, and needy people in Kim Thai commune, Nam Dinh province’s Vu Ban district and gifts to contributors in Hanoi.
