Vietnamese ship takes injured foreign sailor ashore for treatment
PANO – Ship SAR 272 of the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (Vietnam MRCC) arrived in Nha Trang city of Khanh Hoa province at night on November 17, taking an injured foreign sailor ashore for treatment.
Earlier, Vietnam MRCC received a request for rescue from the KATE ship (Marshall Islands nationality), which was en route from Australia to China. Sailor Bako Konstantinos (born in 2000, Greek citizen) broke his leg while working on the ship, which was about 108 nautical miles southeast of Nha Trang.

Vietnam MRCC immediately sent Ship SAR 272 and a team of doctors to carry out the mission. Having been brought ashore, patient Bako Konstantinos was transferred to a medical facility in Nha Trang city for treatment.
Earlier, on the morning of November 17, the SAR 272 promptly brought ashore Russian crewman Sokolov Andrei for treatment. Sokolov Andrei got injured while working on ship EMIL, en route from Russia to China.
After docking in Nha Trang city, the crew-member was handed over to the ship owner's representative and taken to Vinmec Nha Trang International Hospital for treatment. At present, crewman Sokolov Andrei is gradually recovering.
