Taking place on April 21, the course saw the participation of more than 400 instructors and trainees. This was the first capacity building activity within the project’s framework and also a top priority to be fulfilled before implementing the project so that the participating forces could update information related to mine action and unexploded ordnance (UXO) contamination in provinces of Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, and Thua Thien Hue.
During the course, trainees were equipped with comprehensive knowledge about issues related to bombs, mines and explosives, data management, among others, to ensure consistent project implementation and minimize risks.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, VNMAC Deputy Director Senior Colonel Le Quang Hop evaluated that the course was organized strictly and met the set requirements, ensuring absolute safety in all aspects.

Concluding the course, all trainees obtained good and excellent results. They will share acquired knowledge with officers and soldiers in their agencies and units and make thorough preparations and closely coordinate with relevant forces to effectively implement the project.
The mine action of the RoK - Vietnam Peace Village project is funded by the RoK Government through KOICA. The Vietnamese Government and Ministry of National Defense assigned the VNMAC to coordinate the project implementation.
The project will be carried out from 2024 to 2026 in Thua Thien Hue, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh provinces, with the aim of conducting technical survey of about 15,000ha of land while searching and clearing about 6,000ha of UXO and explosive-contaminated areas, contributing to the building of sustainable rural areas and promoting socio-economic development in the three provinces.
