The program aimed to take care of disadvantaged students who are studying at universities, colleges and academies in the city to celebrate Tet away from home, mostly from Khanh Hoa province or Northern and Central Highlands provinces. Among them, many from remote localities used to celebrate Tet far away from home for two years or more. There are many reasons why they chose to celebrate Tet in Ho Chi Minh City.
