Major General Nguyen Thanh Nam, Viettel’s Party Secretary and Deputy General Director; Permanent Vice President of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Tran Thanh Hai; representatives of the Defense Trade Union Board, Military Youth Advisory and Military Women Advisory Boards; and 390 delegates representing more than 42,500 laborers of 87 Viettel’s Trade Union organizations attended the congress.
As reported, Viettel’s Trade Union Organization has excellently completed its duties according to three key functions, namely protecting legitimate rights and interests; engaging in management; and disseminating information, encouraging laborers to build and defend the Fatherland.
Particularly, the group’s employees have had their income, jobs, living standard, and welfare ensured, even during the COVID-19 pandemic, and their health checked periodically, bought health insurance with incentives, among others.

Attentively, in the 2018 - 2023 period, the number of the group’s employees has increased by more than 50 per cent, from 42,500 to 30,000. In three consecutive years, from 2021 to 2023, Viettel has been honored with HR Asia’s “Best company to work for in Asia” awards.
In addition, Viettel’s Trade Union Organization has well carried out the program “Happy Viettel people,” during which it has visited and presented gifts to needy workers. The organization has also funded the building of 28 houses and conducted other meaningful activities with a cost of over VND 53 billion.
Notably, 2,696 out of 37,220 registered initiatives of its members have been recognize, bringing over VND 700 billion benefit to the group.
In the reviewed period, 2,612 members of the organization were admitted to the Party organization.
During the congress, delegates discussed ways to realize the group’s goal of taking the lead in creating a digital society, building a hi-tech defense industry complex, and developing Viettel into a global industry-technology group.

Addressing the event, Major General Nguyen Thanh Nam emphasized that in the coming time, all-level Trade Union organizations and their members should exert utmost efforts, and promote unity to ensure that every Viettel person loves their work and organization, always putting the collective interests first, and completing any tasks, even the smallest ones, with love.
The congress elected 39 official delegates and three alternates and one delegate chosen by higher level to attend the upcoming 10th Congress of the Military Trade Union Organization in the 2023 - 2028 period.
