Sick fisherman saved
PANO - A seriously ill fisherman in Hoang Sa (Paracel) waters was successfully saved by Ship SAR 412 of the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center Region II (Da Nang MRCC) on May 2 before being taken ashore for further treatment.
Earlier, at 17:45 April 30, the Da Nang MRCC received mayday signals from fishing boat QNa 91991 TS captained by Bui Xuan Thanh (Tam Quang commune, Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province), operating in the waters southeast of the Hoang Sa archipelago, about 320 nautical miles from Da Nang coast. On board the boat, fisherman Dinh Van Dan aged 50 had bad cough, vomiting out blood and lost consciousness at times.
The Da Nang MRCC in coordination with the Da Nang Emergency Center (Da Nang 115 EC) instructed the trawler to quickly head ashore for timely treatment to the patient. Nevertheless, as the patient’s situation got worse, Ship SAR 412 with a doctor from the Da Nang 115 EC on board was quickly dispatched to the scene.
At 20:00 May 1, Ship SAR412 reached the troubled trawler. The rescue team then provided first-aid and took the patient ashore for further treatment.
