At 15.00 the same day, when fishing 70 nautical miles east of An Bang Island, fisherman Nguyen Sieng, aged 54, resident of Binh Phuoc commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai province, fell down from a height of 1.5m, and had a chest pain, cough and sneeze.

At 1530, receiving a SOS signal from boat QNg 95375TS with Le Son at the helm, An Bang Island’s commander of Brigade 146 of Naval Region 4 directed the island infirmary to prepare emergency treatment for the distressed fisherman.

The infirmary’s doctors and nurses promptly examined the patient and diagnosed two broken left ribs and high blood pressure. They bandaged and secured the left rib-cage in place.

At 21.00, with the approval of doctors in charge, the trawler’s crew could take the patient ashore as he was recovering. The doctors also gave him medicines and other necessities.
