“Rice ATM” model multiplied in HCMC
PANO – The Military Command of District 8 in Ho Chi Minh City, in association with the district’s Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee, on April 15 launched a “Rice ATM” to help needy people overcome hardships amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
This was the very first automatic rice dispenser in the city participated in by the local armed forces. They will closely work with relevant organizations to ensure operations of the special ATM.
Accordingly, militiamen of the command are in charge of ensuring order, checking body temperature, instructing people to wash hands, and then lining people up at a distance of two meters to prevent Covid-19 from spreading. Elderly and weak people were given priority to receive rice first.
