The issuance of this directive is important to help raise troops’ awareness of the pandemic, create consensus, and urge resolute and effective actions from each defense agency and military unit. It also contributes to promoting the military’s combined strength and raising the responsibility of troops, militia, and self-defense forces for taking care of people’s health and the nation’s safety.
The directive points out leadership policies and approaches to effectively perform the disease control mission. It also highlights the vital role of the military in the fight and affirms that the military remains the mainstay of the Party and the State in this fierce combat.
To effectively implement the directive, military Party Committees, Party cells, and chains of-command at all levels should continuously embrace policies mandated by higher levels on disease prevention and make troops thoroughly understand their current political mission.
Besides, agencies and units should mobilize all resources and encourage their troops to overcome hardship to achieve the mission while creating the best conditions for military researchers and practitioners to treat infected cases and apply advanced science and technology to contain the virus.
Alongside enhancing the COVID-19 prevention and control effort in an effective manner, relevant agencies and units should be active in working out combat readiness plans and conducting exercises to deal with newly arising situations in a timely manner. They should also be aware of and defeat all acts of sabotage by hostile forces.
With the high determination and unanimity of all troops, militia and self-defense forces, the fight will certainly be a success.
