The delegates reviewed that over the past 72 years of building and development, the Vietnamese Students’ Association has been a bridge to connect generations of students across the country. Now the association has 328 affiliated agencies at all levels inside and outside the country. Through various activities and movements, the association has greatly contributed to building a generation of Vietnamese students with rich knowledge, experience, and skills, creativeness, and readiness to integrate into the world.

At the event, the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Students’ Association presented the titles of “Students with five good deeds,” “Students’ collectives with five good deeds,” and “January Star” to outstanding individuals and collectives.

In particular, the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Students’ Association awarded the title of “Students with five good deeds” at the central level to 291 excellent students and the title of “Students’ collectives with five good deeds” at the central level to 60 groups. Outstanding units in carrying out missions included the Vietnamese Students’ Associations of provinces and cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Thai Nguyen, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, and Binh Dinh, among others.

2021 was the 21st year that the Vietnamese Students’ Association awarded “January Star” to outstanding students at home and abroad. This year, 109 students, including 100 at home and nine abroad, were honored with the award.

Of the honored students, there were typical ones who won both titles of “Students with five good deeds” and “January Star.”  They included Nguyen Hoai Nhan from Southern Can Tho University, Nguyen Ngoc Bang Tam from the University of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City-based Vietnam National University, and Nguyen Thanh An from Duy Tan University in Da Nang city.

On the occasion, the Ministry of Education and Training presented certificates of merit to 243 students who won the “Students with five good deeds” title at the central level; the Ministry of Labors, Invalids and Social Affairs granted certificates of merit to six students holding the “Students with five good deeds” title. These students were also awarded with certificates of merit of the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Students’ Association.
