Military, civilian businesses support flood-hit people

PANO – The Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB) has just donated VND 3.6 billion to people affected by the recent flooding in the Central region provinces of Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh.
Earlier, the cadres and staff of MB joined the donation drive initiated across the bank. A number of units, companies and branches under the bank have also actively and directly supported flood-hit people in these provinces.

Via the Fatherland Front organizations of the three provinces, MB presented VND 500 million to Nghe An province; VND 1 billion to Ha Tinh province; and VND 1.5 billion to Quang Binh province. The rest (VND 600 million) was handed directly to flood-hit people by a delegation of the Military Insurance Corporation under the bank.
* Meanwhile, a delegation of businesses and individuals from Da Nang city on October 27 reached the flood-hit commune of Gia Pho, Huong Khe district, Ha Tinh province, to present more than 200 gifts, worth nearly VND 100 million in total, to locals.
The gifts include necessities, such as instant noodle, cooking oil, and VND 300,000 for each household.
Gia Pho commune is home to 1,540 households, of which 1,200 were flooded recently, bringing the total losses up to VND 35 billion.
Organizations and individuals nationwide have donated nearly VND 1 billion to help locals overcome consequences of the flooding while the local authorities, organizations and forces have also lent a hand, helping locals stabilize their lives and resume production.
