“Girls Takeover 2024” is held annually to promote gender equality by empowering girls and young women to experience leadership roles. Through this program, girls are given the opportunity to showcase their leadership potential and contribute their voices to issues that directly affect them in society.

This year, student Tran Ha Anh experienced a day as Ambassador Johan Ndisi. In addition to stepping into the ambassadorial role, she participated in meaningful discussions on creating opportunities and empowering women and girls in leadership.

Talking about her experience, Ha Anh said, “Girls Takeover 2024 is a testament to the immense potential of girls and young women to lead and create positive changes. This program gives us the chance to raise our voices, confront challenges, and seek practical solutions. This is just the beginning!”

According to Swedish Ambassador Johan Ndisi, Sweden is currently the second most innovative country, and good working conditions for women are key to achieving this.

“The Swedish Embassy is committed to building an inclusive future, empowering young leaders like Ha Anh to promote social change and gender equality. Studies show that when young women are given the opportunity to realize their potential, they inspire others, create collective strength, and contribute to the sustainable development of the economy,” emphasized Ambassador Johan Ndisi.

Supporting this view, Migena Shulla, Country Director of Plan International Vietnam, affirmed that empowering youth is crucial for finding long-term sustainable solutions. In the context of increasing climate challenges, such as rising sea levels and natural disasters in Vietnam, the participation of women in climate response activities, especially in leadership positions, has proven to be vital in helping communities adapt, mitigate risks, and thrive amid environmental changes.
