The contest aims to promote information dissemination on preventing the toxic effects of tobacco by means of TV programs.
Entries are TV reports in Vietnamese or with Vietnamese subtitle screened on TV channels from January 1 to December 31, 2017. All entries must reflect tobacco-related harm and campaigns to prevent the harm carried out this year.
Particularly, entries should focus on policies related to increasing prices and taxation of tobacco in an effort to reduce demand in Vietnam, or the theme of the World Health Organization’s “World No Tobacco Day”, harmful impacts of tobacco and passive smoking as well as no-smoking regulations at public places. In addition, entries help non-smokers learn more about passive tobacco harm and then remind smokers not to smoke in public places.
The organizers hope that the contest inspires reporters to compose good, animated and genuine images with meaningful messages within the contest theme. The contest is expected to change people’s awareness and behaviors harmful to health and losses to the economy caused by tobacco.
