Ten eminent citizens of the Capital City of Hanoi in 2018 honored |
On October 9, Hanoi held a conference to praise excellent examples, people with good deeds, outstanding enterprises and entrepreneurs, and Hanoi Capital City’s 2018 eminent citizens.
The event, in celebration of the 64th Capital City’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954), drew the participation of Mr. Vo Van Thuong, Head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education; Mr. Hoang Trung Hai, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Municipal People’s Council, representatives of Central and local agencies, organizations, enterprises and people.
“Eminent Citizen of the Capital City” is a noble title Hanoi annually selects and confers on individuals living and working in the city, who have reached especially excellent achievements in various fields, made great contributions to the city over the past year, or served as bright examples in all aspects of life.
By presenting the title to 10 outstanding citizens every year, the local leadership shows its respect for its good citizens and local enterprises, as well as encourages all local people to study well, work harder and contribute more to the city’s development.
This year’s holders of the title are people working in various fields, namely Associate Professor, Doctor and People’s Physician Nguyen Duy Anh; Nguyen Duc Cuong, Head of the Mechanical-Electrical Repair Section (Thong Nhat Mechanics-Electrics Joit-Stock Company); Do Quang Hien, CEO of T&T Group; Nguyen Tu Hung residing in living quarter 13, Tan Lap commune, Dan Phuong District; Tran Phuong Lan, President of the Club “Children with Epidermolysis Bullosa” – a charitable organization in Hoan Kiem district; Nguyen Huu Ngoc, a member of the Hanoi Union of Literature and Arts Associations; athlete Bui Thi Thu Thao, a gold medal winner at ASIA 18; Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Van Tien from Traffic Police Squad 12 of the Hanoi Police Department; Trinh Ngoc Trinh, Director of the Highland Education Development Organization, a local charitable mission supporting education in mountainous areas; and artisan Pham Thi Anh Tuyet, the owner of Anh Tuyet Restaurant, Hoan Kiem district.
At the event, the city’s authorities also presented awards to the city’s athletes with high records at the ASIAD 18 and “Thang Long Cup” to 20 enterprises with large contributions to the city’s development over the past year.
