Hanoi honors nine elite capital citizens

PANO – 961 “Good people with Good deeds” and nine elite citizens of the capital city in 2016 were honored in a ceremony in Hanoi on October 10th, to mark the city’s 62nd liberation day in the presence of Secretary of the Hanoi municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai, leaders from Central agencies and local departments.

The “Elite Capital Citizen” title has been bestowed upon 70 outstanding citizens who made significant contribution to the city, over the past 7 years. Meanwhile, the city has praised more than 23,000 “Good people with Good deeds” over the past 24 years while the city’s districts and towns have praised more than 300,000 examples for their contributions to the localities’ development.
At the event, on behalf of the President, Politburo member Hoang Trung Hai presented the first-class Independence Order to former Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen The Thao, the third-class Independence Order to former head of the municipal Inspection Commission Tran Trong Duc and the first-class Labor Order to former President of the municipal Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Dao Van Binh and former Head of the municipal Information and Education Commission Ho Quang Loi.
These people made outstanding achievements in their office term, and significantly contributed to the cause of national construction and defense.
