First-ever river bus route put into operation
PANO – The first-ever river bus route stretching from Bach Dang station in District 1 to Linh Dong station in Thu Duc district, Ho Chi Minh City was officially put into operation on November 25 after 6 years of preparation.
The 10.8km route has 12 stops and a one-way journey will cost VND15,000 and last approximately 30 minutes.
At the opening ceremony, the relevant units showed their determination to operate the new public transport type effectively to attract more passengers to use the new means of transport. The operation of the new river bus route is part of Ho Chi Minh’s effort to take full advantages of a 1,000km long river to ease traffic jams in the city.
