Tu Hai company in cooperation with Japan Port Consultant (JPC) and Resourcement Inc. (RI), Netherlands, invests in a project to build river bus routes in Ho Chi Minh City, leaders of the company recently revealed.

Tu Hai’s General Director Le Ngoc Anh Minh on May 5th said that the company and its two partners had met and worked together in late April and that the three parties would sign a cooperation agreement in the forthcoming time to realize the project.

According to him, JPC will be responsible for the design of stations and stops as well as suggest the boats to use as river buses and study the whole transport routes system.

Meanwhile, Resourcement Inc, will study the need and the density of river transportation in the rivers in the city; the appropriate locations of stations and stops and seek other investors for the project.

Tu Hai hopes that the project will be started next months and the surveys and studies will be finished by the end of 2011 so that it will have the reports on the project feasibility in the end of 2011.

Earlier, the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has agreed on the company’s proposal to study river bus routes to ease regular traffic congestions in the city.
