During the forum, themed “Children and violence and child-abuse prevention”, five girls, representing tens of thousands of girls in Dong Anh district, were provided with leadership and advocacy from the local authorities and functional departments to dialogue with other participating children and to map out orientations and make commitments to enhancing safety for children, especially girls in public spaces.

A similar forum was launched in Dong Anh district last August, drawing the participation of 23,000 students from 26 secondary schools in the locality.

Earlier, at schools, students discussed three main topics, including prevention of harassment, violence and maltreatment against children, safety for girls at public spaces and internet safety for children. Eventually, 150 best girls and boys were selected to join the forum.
