The Creative Science Contest is an annual event directed by the Ministry of Science and Technology and organized by VnExpress newspaper.
In its fourth year, the contest aims to foster research and innovation in science and technology. It targets professional scientists, non-professional innovators, and businesses, with this year's theme "Green Innovations." The contest celebrates breakthrough solutions that contribute to sustainable socio-economic development, offering practical benefits to communities, especially in underprivileged areas.

The contest encourages creative products that apply cutting-edge technologies. Eligible submissions should demonstrate uniqueness and differentiation, align with Vietnam's application conditions, and attract or hold potential for investment to enable broader implementation and significant economic impact.
Submissions should also focus on supporting communities in disadvantaged, remote, and mountainous areas. Contest entries may be at the experimental stage, already implemented, registered for intellectual property, or not yet patented.
The submission portal is open until March 30. The preliminary round is from March 31 to April 14, followed by the final round from April 15 to May 6. The award ceremony will be held on May 17 in Hanoi.
Awards are valued at nearly VND 1 billion in total. The organizing panel will hand over 2 first prizes (VND 100 million each), 2 second prizes (VND 70 million each), and 2 third prizes (VND 50 million each) to both professional and non-professional participants.
For businesses, the top 5 with breakthrough solutions or scientific and technological products from 2023-2024 will receive a communication package valued at VND 100 million on VnExpress newspaper.
The Green Innovation Award (valued at VND 30 million) focuses on sustainable, creative solutions addressing social challenges in rural or mountainous areas. Special priority will be given to educational initiatives.
Over the past three years, the Creative Science Contest has awarded 19 prizes to authors and groups whose technological solutions have high applicability in daily life.
