The Committee of Ethnic Affairs of Bac Kan province presents gifts to reputable people from ethnic minority groups in Cho Don district. |
Comrade Secretary of the Party organization of Khuoi Day village, Binh Trung commune, Cho Don district, was chosen by local people as the village’s reputable people for his contribution to local socio-economic development. In order to encourage local people in household economic development to escape poverty, Cang has actively planted trees in the forest and engaged in agricultural activities. Meanwhile, he has studied information on the Internet to plant 1,000 yellow camellia trees in the forest. Then he shared the obtained knowledge with other people in the village and instructed them how to do it.
Currently, Bac Kan province has 1,284 reputable people from 1,292 village and residential groups. They are mainly ethnic minorities. Understanding that reputable people are the core force to connect ethnic people with local authorities, the Bac Kan provincial People’s Committee has used resources to implement policies for reputable people, inquire after reputable people who are sick or when their families are in difficult conditions, and present gifts to them on special holidays, among others.
In the 2021-2022 period, the province held 11 training courses for 736 reputable people; provided them with 161 smart phones; and distributed newspapers for nearly 6,500 reputable people, and more. In August this year, the provincial Party Committee organized a ceremony to honor and present certificates of merit to 59 typical reputable people, village managers, and outstanding individuals from ethnic minority groups.
According to Head of the Committee of Ethnic Affairs of Bac Kan province Trieu Thi Thu Phuong, reputable people are one of the core forces bringing the guidelines, policies and the law of the Party and State, and the province to reality. In the time to come, the committee would give recommendations to higher levels to pay more attention to reputable people and effectively carry out policies for them. Meanwhile, the committee would innovate the contents and methods of the organization of training courses to raise people’s awareness of reputable people, and well implement policies for them.
